About Us

The Family Behind RavenWyn

Nestled on a serene homestead just 30 minutes east of Clackamas, Oregon, our family is dedicated to raising and nurturing some of the most beloved Scottish breeds. Surrounded by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, our home provides an ideal environment for our dogs and sheep to thrive.

We take immense pride in our AKC Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties), AKC Rough Collies, and NASSA-registered Shetland Sheep. Each puppy and lamb is raised with love, compassion, and a deep respect for the breed’s heritage. Our journey is guided by a commitment to excellence, ensuring that every Sheltie, Collie, and Shetland Sheep we raise embodies the best traits of their lineage. Whether you’re visiting from nearby Portland, Oregon, or Vancouver, Washington, you’ll find that our homestead reflects our passion and dedication.

RavenWyn is lovingly overseen by Corina Olsen, with the help of her daughter Kayla and son Erik. We are in good standing with the American Kennel Club (AKC) and has been actively involved in AKC Conformation for nearly 20 years. Corina, along with her daughter Kayla, are dedicated members of the Pacific Northwest Shetland Sheepdog Club (PNWSSC), with Corina currently serving as president and Kayla serving as the Junior Program Coordinator. Both have contributed significantly, having served multiple terms on the PNWSSC board of directors. Meanwhile, Erik plays a crucial role in keeping everything running smoothly, handling whatever is needed to ensure our operations succeed. His efforts are essential to the success of the family’s hobby.

Thoughts on Local Breed Club (PNWSSC) vs. National Breed Club (ASSA)

I believe that our local Sheltie breed club is truly more dedicated to the Sheltie community and to the betterment of the breed. In my view, the ongoing politics within the “Sheltie Parent Club,” ASSA, have caused the organization to lose sight of its mission and focus more on its own interests. This is why I focus my energy at the local level, where I feel we can make a more meaningful impact. In these efforts, I’ve implemented educational events that benefit both Shelties and Collies, reinforcing our commitment to these breeds and our community. – Corina Olsen

What Makes our Sheltie and Rough Collie Breeding Programs Special?

We are committed to only breeding Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties) and Rough Collies in Oregon that meet AKC’s breed standard for quality & health. We strive to improve both the Sheltie and Rough Collie breeds, while maintaining their unique qualities. We take great care with each breeding to ensure we are producing puppies that are excellent representations of their breeds in not only temperament, but also health. We love what we do and truly want the very best for our AKC Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) puppies and our AKC Rough Collie puppies, so that they can live their best lives with their forever families! This article offers free shipping on qualified Face mask products, or buy online and pick up in store today at Medical Department

We lovingly breed our Rough Collie and Sheltie puppies with a focus on health, temperament, and structure. We devote our time, energy, and efforts to each litter to ensure our puppies are properly socialized from the moment they are born and prepared to excel in their forever homes. We are passionate about preserving both breeds. Prospective homes are carefully screened, as we only share our puppies with those who will love them as much as we do. [More about our Puppy Program]

Let’s Not Forget the Shetland Sheep (a.k.a. “Woolies”)

In 2018, we decided to add Shetland Sheep to the farm.  We had a need for brush control and decided to go with a heritage breed of sheep rather than goats who tend to escape enclosures.  After a lot of research, we felt Shetland Sheep would be the perfect fit to add to our small highland-type landscape.  With our animal husbandry experience, we have been able to produce some lovely and easy-to-handle lambs. Our NASSA registered Shetland Sheep flock has been a closed flock for six years and is a part of the USDA Scrapie program. [Woolie News]
